BedrockChatBridge Guide

This page explains the safe, read-only BedrockChatBridge checks available to authorized testers. It is not a normal player feature.

BedrockChatBridge is a temporary compatibility feature for servers using CMI Paper chat and Floodgate. It reroutes only eligible Floodgate senders after CMI formatting, leaves Java chat untouched, and stops rerouting if its dependency or listener-order checks fail.

Authorized testers use the read-only status and information commands to confirm whether the bridge is active and why. Lifecycle changes and deeper diagnostics are permission-gated and remain in the full technical reference.

Available features include:

  • Floodgate-only chat rerouting after CMI has produced the viewer-specific message.
  • Java-player chat remains on its normal delivery path.
  • Fail-closed dependency, formatter, and listener-order checks before activation.
  • Read-only status and information commands for authorized verification.
  1. Run /bedrockchatbridge status on an authorized test server to inspect the current bridge state.
  2. Use /bedrockchatbridge info for a short explanation of the compatibility feature.
  3. Open the full reference before running permission-gated lifecycle or hook diagnostics.
