AFKShrine Guide
This page introduces AFKShrine from a public server-docs point of view. It focuses on what the feature does in-game, how to get started when you have access, and which commands are useful.
What It Does
Section titled “What It Does”AFKShrine turns server AFK time into a small personal shrine experience. When you become AFK, the feature can show soft particles, a private bossbar, and progress views. When you return, AFKShrine can show a private postcard summary and let you claim pending tokens, review rewards, check milestones, and personalize your shrine preset.
How Players Use It
Section titled “How Players Use It”AFKShrine is meant to make being away feel clearer and a little more fun, without automatically dumping rewards into your inventory. Your AFK sessions can create pending AFKShrine tokens, milestone progress, quest progress, and collection album entries. You return, review what happened, then claim or trade rewards when you are ready.
Available features include:
- AFK shrine visuals with soft particles, optional sparkles, and a private bossbar while you are AFK.
- Compact private return postcards with Details and eligible Claim controls; /afkshrine postcard opens the latest visit from this login.
- Dynamic bossbar views for session time, reward eligibility, pending tokens, daily caps, streaks, seasonal progress, and community progress.
- Pending-token claiming and preview-first reward trades, including a confirmed batch of affordable rewards through /afkshrine trade all.
- A six-month expiry for unclaimed points, with a visible next deadline; claimed balances do not expire.
- Time, biome, safety, risk, adventure, weather, seasonal, dimension, collection, and streak milestones and quests.
- Permission-gated particle presets that players can inspect and select.
- A collection album and reset summary showing completed, repeatable, refreshed, and still-available goals.
- Optional low-reward bed-rest activity with cooldown protection.
- Server-wide community milestones with temporary celebration windows.
- Optional captured-item tools and upgrades configured by staff.

Player FAQ
Section titled “Player FAQ”How do I collect what I earned while AFK?
Section titled “How do I collect what I earned while AFK?”Return from AFK and use /afkshrine claim to move pending tokens into your spendable balance. Then browse /afkshrine rewards and use /afkshrine trade to spend them. Going AFK does not automatically deliver reward kits.
Unclaimed points expire after six calendar months. /afkshrine claim protects the remaining points by moving them into the claimed balance, which does not expire. /afkshrine balance and the claim button show the next expiry date. New earnings have their own deadlines and never renew older points.
When points expire, the player receives a private message such as: “100 of your oldest unclaimed AFKShrine points expired. Unclaimed points expire after six months. Use /afkshrine claim regularly to keep your points. Remaining pending: 30.” The command in this message is clickable. Offline players receive the message when they return; notification is recorded after the expiry has been saved.
Existing pending balances do not contain reliable per-award dates. They receive one six-month grace period from the server’s first rollout of this feature, recorded in plugins/1MB-CMIAPI/AFKShrine/pending-expiry.yml. Returning late or restarting the server does not reset this date. Future awards are grouped into daily expiry buckets in each player’s afkshrine.points.pending-expiry ledger. They expire after the entire six-month anniversary day in the configured timezone, giving up to one extra day of grace and never expiring points early. Saved deadlines remain fixed if the timezone later changes.
pending-expiry.enabled defaults to true. Turning it off pauses cleanup but retains the original deadlines; reenabling it checks overdue points again. Expiry is checked before claiming, for online players every minute, and in background scans at startup and daily for offline balances. File scans and expiry/notification writes run off the server thread and use the shared player store’s atomic per-player update. Normal point earnings, claims, and rollback snapshots include the dated ledger. Expired points never enter the claimed balance or community contribution; existing claimed tokens, completed quests/milestones, lifetime earnings, streaks, and leaderboard totals stay intact.
/afkshrine admin audit <player> shows the next deadline, total expired points, unnotified expired points, and last processing time. The ledger retains notification state across restarts. A crash between displaying and acknowledging a notice may repeat that notice, but does not deduct points twice. Malformed or inconsistent point ledgers fail closed, and an initialized expiry policy is never silently recreated or restored from an older backup. Staff should restore its original file and restart the feature if policy recovery is needed. Gameplay acceptance should cover a mixed old/fresh balance, claim at the deadline, offline return, and restart with an undelivered notice before live deployment.
Why did my AFK session earn no tokens?
Section titled “Why did my AFK session earn no tokens?”Sessions must meet the configured minimum time, world rules, cooldowns, and daily cap. Hover Details for the reason, or open /afkshrine postcard to read the full visit; repeatedly toggling AFK does not bypass these limits.
Can I earn a milestone again?
Section titled “Can I earn a milestone again?”It depends on that milestone. Some are one-time; others have daily, weekly, monthly, or limited repeat windows. /afkshrine resets shows what is ready, used, complete, or inactive.
What does Trade All do?
Section titled “What does Trade All do?”/afkshrine trade all attempts one affordable copy of each eligible reward. It uses your claimed token balance, so claim pending tokens first and review the reward costs before trading.
What can I do with AFKShrine Notes?
Section titled “What can I do with AFKShrine Notes?”Open /afkshrine exchanges to exchange 8 physical AFKShrine Notes for either 4 DiscordChat points or 1 physical AFKShrine Token. Choose the output, review the trade and confirm it. These trades use authentic Note items, not your pending AFKShrine balance or ordinary paper. Available options depend on your permissions and the required integrations.
What should I do if a reward is blocked?
Section titled “What should I do if a reward is blocked?”Follow the message for missing tokens, access, inventory space, or AutoSell protection. If it reports an unfinished delivery needing recovery, give staff the message and reference so they can check it.
Good To Know
Section titled “Good To Know”- AFK postcards are private welcome-back summaries, not public broadcasts.
- Details opens a postcard menu; Claim appears only when you have pending tokens and permission to claim them.
- Existing pending balances receive a six-month grace period from the feature rollout. New earnings do not extend older deadlines.
- Pending tokens are not spendable until you claim them with /afkshrine claim.
- Reward trades preview first; commands that spend tokens or items require confirmation.
- Some presets, tools, upgrades, and previews may be locked by rank, event progress, beta access, or server configuration.
- Bed rest and same-location checks are intentionally conservative so AFKShrine stays a fun passive feature instead of a farm.
